    Just because...

The Rules: The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "MY 5 WEIRD HABITS" and people who get tagged need to write a xanga entry about their 5 weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their xanga IDs. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "You are tagged" in their xanga and tell them to read yours:

     "My 5 Weird Habits"

    1) I do this weird thing when I am bored: I look at digital clocks, add up all the numbers and see how many palindromes I can make. (I have a thing about symmetry. I like it. A lot.) Sometimes I also like to pretend the ":" between the numbers is a function and see what function it would have to be to be a true equation. Yes, I am weird.

    2) I am nearly always listening to music. I have a soundtrack to every day. Today I have been listening mostly to "When I Fall In Love" by Chris Botti, "Plans" by Death Cab For Cutie, and "The White Album" - if you need me to tell you that that is by the most wonderful rock and roll band ever, you are no longer my friend.

    3) I have to have everything clean where I am doing homework. For some reason it bothers me to have disorder around me when I'm trying to think objectively.

    4) Um... I read. A lot. Is that weird?

    5) I like being alone. I spend a large amount of time in my room, alone. And I like it like that.

    Your turn.

    - Know Your Onion.

So, tomorrow I take the SAT's for the first time since seventh grade. It's such a weird thing, when you think about it. It's considered some sort of litmus test of intelligence, yet it measures quite limited scope of skills, and is very easily "beaten" with simple tricks. However, even with all its flaws, many people think of that number as some sort of measure of their worth...

What has been your experience with the SAT's? Were you happy with how you did? Are you comfortable revealing your score? Do you think it's a pretty good indicator of intelligence (or "predictor of college success," as ETS puts it), or is it all a big scam?

    Wish me luck.

About Me

  • I could tell you things... Things to impress you, shock you or otherwise engage your mind (or at least your mouse). However, I'm not a narcissistic exhibitionist, so I won't. Just read. Or don't. But if you do, be prepared for some intense philosophical debates; just don't be surprised if they're on the topic of Coke vs. Pepsi.
